Jenna: Bridal Session in Charlottesville, VA

Jenna was such a fun bride! For her we wanted to create a really natural look, an “as is” kind of look. We chose a really subtle, peachy blush to match her beautifully tanned skin, and a shy pink lip stain for the lips. For the eyes, we wanted a little something to stand out but not be too dramatic, so we stuck with a dark blue eyeliner and a touch of guava on the lid.

We had a great time!

TWO fun people.

You heard me – just cause you all are so great!

Jenny Collins                       and                         Edward Bricker!

(who knew a boy could like mascara or his wife so much!…. )

Thanks to all who commented!

Next give away in two weeks!

Product of the Week: Simple Cleansing for Sensitive Skin!

Ever just wish you could find a cleanser concentrate – add a little water, it does the job with just a dab?

How about something that doesn’t break you out? Something that doesn’t strip all of the natural moisture from your skin? Something that smells good but doesn’t smell like its full of cheap perfumey fragrance?

Something French?

Something a little sassy? Something that smells and feels like a facial in a bottle?

What’s a girl to do?

Yonka Gel Nettoyant is the Perfect Fix!

“Gel Nettoyant maintains the natural protective hydrolipidic film, making the skin feel refreshed and alive. The skin feels unbelievably purified and rested without any unpleasant stripping sensation. It provides an overall feeling of comfort and cleanliness without irritation while conditioning the skin and removing makeup, dirt and excess oil.” – Yonka

Carolyn + Travis Wedding at Pollock Vineyards – Virginia

This was a super special day and absolutely a blast for me! It was the first wedding I was able to do after having Henry, my sweet 3 month old, and I got to work with some rocking awesome photographers – Rothwell Photography.

For Carolyn’s hair we wanted something classic, elegant and completely up. We did a bouquet of curls at the nap of her neck, and it was perfect. We also wanted something romantic and smokey for her eyes and lips. So we use some sultry coal pencil and juicy mauve for her lips.

Emily + Brendan: North Carolina Wedding Sneak Peak!

Eric and I had a great time with Emily and Brendan for their wedding in Holden Beach, NC. They are such a fun couple, and after the tragic earthquake in Haiti, they decided to make some adjustments to their wedding and donate the rest of their wedding money to the relief effort. They switched their date and had us join them on a Monday at the beach with their family and a delightful time!

Product of the Week: Silky Smooth Hair

Alright, I confess – I highlight my hair. I like to see the shimmery sassiness of a lil blonde streak here and there. BUT like most people, this lightening action also brings to the hair a bit of dryness, and when the day is done, it feels like I need a hair cut every month just to keep up with the sass.

So – what’s a girl to do?

Never fear! There is moisture in a bottle – instant hydration for the colored-hair gal or the natural gal – and all 100% vegan!

Pureology’s Hydrate Condition is the perfect fix

With this AHHH-maaazing product, I can go 6-8 months without the drabby-need-a-hair-cut-now feeling. And the product lasts for a year if used sparingly.

Brett: Trash the Dress

Trash the dress shoots are super fun! Usually it’s an experiment with make-up and hair – and you get to try all sorts of new things. For Brett, I wanted to do something dramatic – so we did really smokey eyes and pretty light pinkish lips. Right as she was walking out the door, I felt her hair needed a little something extra so we pinned in a vibrant, fushia orchid to complete the look.

The weather was INSANE! It turned from sun to quick cold winds in a matter of minutes, but it was perfect for some awesome shots in the water, lying in the leaves and running through a little junk yard.

Fashion Treat Week!

{This week’s guest post is by Mallory a fashionista of sorts! Enjoy!}

I’m loving…

Unexpected match-ups!

There are days when I look through my closet and feel so uninspired. The urge to run out and buy a new dress can be strong but with a tight budget and no real need of more clothes, most days I just need to rethink my options.

Which is why I am loving the tried and true trend of mix-match.

The days of matching your purse to your shoes to your earrings to your eye color are over, my friends!
Mixing prints and colors is a definite do if done right. Time to get inspired!

Here are some mix-ups + match-ups from my closet to yours:

{ The Handbag }

-Emersonmade-
This girl makes clothing, sweet accessories, and raises chickens!

{The Outfit}

-Madewell-
Shirt
+ Skirt

{For Evening or Outing}

-Anthropologie-

Dress + Sweater + Scarf

The key is to not mix more than two bold prints at once.  As for color, mix it up!
Try this new take on clogs…

{Dress Love}

-Anthropologie-

Dress + Clogs

A bold matchup for the day you need some spring in your step!

I’m always looking for something fresh – try the mix-match. Sure to add some fun without breaking the bank!
